G2A News / Latest News / The Division 2 announced by Ubisoft
The second Division is coming.
How about that. The Division, a largely contentious urban multiplayer shooter launched by the tireless Ubisoft in 2016 has lived to see its legacy continued in a sequel.
If you don’t know The Division, it’s basically what you get if you mix an open urban landscape (in this case Manhattan), MMO features like raids and loot, and a troubled release which had to be significantly patched and updated to the point where it’s reportedly a very decent game.
The announcement of a sequel didn’t come out of nowhere, but it’s always better to have an official statement, and in this one Ubi promises they used the two-year work-in-progress as a learning opportunity.
While it’s far to early to speak about launch windows, the announcement is clsoed off with a different date:
On behalf of all the teams at Ubisoft, we thank you for the support you’ve given us over the past two years, and we hope that our continued work will earn that support for many years to come. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store for The Division 2 at E3 2018 in June. See you then!
Here’s to hoping The Division 2 won’t be quite as divisive as its immediate predecessor.
